David Miller was bought by the Delhi Capitals (DC) in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2026) auction. The South African batter had a base price of INR 2 crore and was bought by the franchise for his base price. Other franchises did not show interest in picking him.
Miller was part of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in IPL 2025. He didn’t have an impressive season, scoring 153 runs in 11 games at an average of 30.60, failing to score any half-centuries. He has been released by the team ahead of the IPL 2026 mini auction.
Miller has a long-standing record in the tournament, having played a total of 141 matches since the 2012 edition.
At an average of 36.20, he has mustered 3077 runs at a strike rate of 138.60, with one century and 13 half-centuries. He was also part of the Gujarat Titans (GT) team that won the trophy in the 2022 season.

The left-handed batter will play for DC for the first time in IPL. In the past, he has been part of different teams like Kings XI Punjab, now Punjab Kings (PBKS), Rajasthan Royals (RR), Gujarat Titans (GT), and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).
The veteran Proteas player is also part of the ongoing T20I series against India. He got out cheaply for one run in the first T20I in Cuttack, which the Proteas lost by 101 runs. In the second game at New Chandigarh, scored an unbeaten 20 runs. He was absent from the playing XI in the third clash in Dharamsala.
