IPL 2026 Auction: All England players shortlisted

Several top England stars will participate in the IPL 2026 auction.
The Indian Premier League (IPL 2026) auction is scheduled to take place on December 16 in Abu Dhabi. A total of 1,390 players registered for the mini-auction, out of which only 350 have been shortlisted to go under the hammer.
Among them, 240 are Indian players, while 110 are overseas players. With a maximum of 77 slots available to be filled, including 31 overseas slots, the competition at the auction is expected to be intense.
Kolkata Knight Riders will enter the auction with the highest purse of 64.3 crores, while Mumbai Indians will head into the auction with the lowest budget, holding just 2.75 crores.
21 English stars shortlisted for the IPL 2026 mini-auction
A total of 21 English players have been shortlisted by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for the auction. However, England’s Test captain Ben Stokes and white-ball captain Harry Brook will not be part of the auction.
Stokes had opted out of last year’s mega-auction, while Brook withdrew from the tournament at the last moment. As per the new IPL rules, those who make themselves unavailable before the season begins will face an automatic ban from participating in the tournament for two full seasons.
As a result, such players will only be eligible to enter the IPL again in the 2028 mega-auction. Among the players shortlisted for the IPL 2026 mini-auction are several key names, including Liam Livingstone, who represented RCB last season but was released ahead of the auction.

Jonny Bairstow, who joined the Mumbai Indians as a replacement player last year, and Gus Atkinson, who was part of the KKR squad in 2024 but pulled out before the season began.
