The IPL auction will take place in Abu Dhabi on December 16.

As the registration deadline closed on November 30, the roster of players to feature in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 auction is locked. A total of 1355 players have made themselves available for the auction, with 10 franchises looking to bolster their squads before the next season.

The franchises have 77 slots to fill, which also includes 31 overseas slots. The maximum number of players each franchise can have is 25. There are some big names in the fray to rack up handsome amounts with teams desperate to add multi-dimensional players to their squad.

The 26-year-old Australian all-rounder, Cameron Green, is expected to be the centre attraction of this auction. With players like Andre Russel departing from the IPL scene, Green can be the next big thing among all-rounders. He is aware of the interest in him among franchises with big purses, prompting him to set his reserve price at INR 2 Crore.

Other major overseas names that have set their reserve price at INR 2 Crore are English all-rounder Liam Livingstone, Matheesha Pathirana, who has been released by Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Wanindu Hasaranga, and David Miller, among others.

Only two Indian players, Ravi Bishnoi and Venkatesh Iyer, have set their base price at INR 2 crore. Bishnoi has been released by Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), while Venkatesh Iyer was not retained by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Kolkata have freed up a whopping 23.75 crores by releasing Iyer, whom they bought in the mega auction last year.
