IPL 2026: All players bought by PBKS in auction

PBKS signed four players in the IPL 2026 auction.

The IPL 2026 auction proved to be another career-defining moment for a few players. Cameron Green became the most expensive overseas player with a deal worth INR 25.20 crore from the Kolkata Knight Riders. He was followed by Sri Lanka’s Matheesha Pathirana for INR 18 crore with the KKR.

Every team makes decisions or buys according to their plans. The last season’s runner-up, Punjab Kings, also secured some good deals. PBKS entered the auction with the second-lowest purse value of INR 11.5 crore, and they would be happy with the way things ended.

Notably, coach Ricky Ponting was not present at the auction, whereas captain Shreyas Iyer was seen giving his insights at the auction table.

The franchise raised a paddle for six players and eventually signed four of them. With all the signings done, the Kings, who came very close to winning their first title in 2025, will look to deliver another impactful performance in the IPL 2026.

Retaining 21 players ahead of the IPL 2026 auction indicated that the Punjab Kings were satisfied with their squad and were looking to fill the gap left. Uncapped all-rounder Aman Khan was the first player that attract Punjab.

But they couldn’t acquire him. Australian all-rounder Cooper Connolly was the first pick for PBKS at the auction for a price of INR 3 crore. The franchise released Glenn Maxwell, and Connolly is a like-for-like replacement.

The 22-year-old bowls quality left-arm spin and can hit the ball very big. They targeted Indian spinner Rahul Chahar as their next pick, but were unable to succeed. Then, the franchise was able to sign Australian all-rounder Ben Dwarshuis for INR 4.4 crore.

Dwarshuis is known for his death-bowling skills and power hitting. He has experience playing in various leagues globally. He became the biggest purchase for PBKS at the IPL 2026 auction.

The next pick for the franchise was Praven Dubey at his base price of INR 30 lacs. The fourth and final buy for the franchise was uncapped all-rounder Vishal Nishad for INR 30 lacs. With this, PBKS completed their quota of 25 players. They spent INR 8 crore and were left with 3.5 crore in their kitty.
