IPL 2026 Auction: All Sri Lanka players shortlisted

Several top Sri Lankan stars will participate in the IPL 2026 auction.
The IPL 2026 auction strikes a tighter, sharper note as teams fine-tune squads after last year’s mega event set their core groups. The mini-auction for the 2026 season will be held in Abu Dhabi on December 16, with the focus being on creating balance within the team rather than completely overhauling it.
Out of 1,390 registrations, the franchises cut the list to 350 names; a maximum of 77 slots can be filled. Meanwhile, retention calls wrapped up on November 15. Kolkata Knight Riders will enter the auction with the highest purse of 64.3 crores, whereas the Mumbai Indians have the lowest.
12 Sri Lankan stars shortlisted for the IPL 2026 mini-auction
Sri Lanka hold a clear presence at the IPL 2026 mini-auction, as 12 players made the final shortlist ahead of the December 16 event in Abu Dhabi. These twelve players will now head to the auction room carrying the hopes of the nation.
Meanwhile, the group features young, match-winning players who are constantly trying to grab attention, which adds balance and raises expectations regarding their opportunities.
At the top end, Wanindu Hasaranga, Matheesha Pathirana, and Maheesh Theekshana enter with a base price of INR 2 crore, therefore showing strong demand for spin control and fast-bowling quality.

Charith Asalanka and Kusal Perera come next at INR 1 crore, while Pathum Nissanka, Dasun Shanaka, Kusal Mendis, Binura Fernando, Viyaskanth Vijayakanth, and Dunith Wellalage sit at INR 75 lakhs, giving teams cover across roles. Traveen Mathew completes the list at INR 30 lakhs, which offers teams a low-cost option with space to develop.
However, several familiar Sri Lankan names like Nuwan Thushara, Dushmantha Chameera, Kamindu Mendis, and Eshan Malinga were already retained by their respective franchises ahead of the auction. Even so, this shortlist still gives Sri Lanka a solid and well-spread presence at the auction.
