The Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, New Chandigarh, is set to host the playoff matches of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. The stadium also hosted the playoff games in the last season, witnessing the Eliminator and Qualifier 1 matches.
The countdown for IPL 2026 has begun with the mini-auction taking place on December 16 in Abu Dhabi. All 10 franchise have formed their squads for the next season, and are busy developing their strategies to win the title.
The MYS Stadium will be the home venue of Punjab Kings (PBKS) in IPL 2026. Under Shreyas Iyer captaincy, PBKS finished as the runners-up last season, making it to the playoffs after 10 years. However, they could not win their maiden title, losing the final against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) by a close margin of six runs.
Playoffs matches in IPL 2025 were shifted to MYS Stadium in Mullanpur

In IPL 2025, the playoff matches were scheduled to take place in Hyderabad and Kolkata. However, the tournament was halted for one week in May due to border tensions between India and Pakistan. As a result, the tournament was postponed by a week and concluded in the first week of June.
Moreover, the venues of the playoffs games were changed from Hyderabad and Kolkata due to bad weather in these regions. The Qualifier 2 and final were shifted to Narendra Modi International Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad, while the Qualifier 1 and Eliminator were shifted to MYS Stadium in New Chandigarh.
In the thrilling Qualifier 1 match, RCB outplayed PBKS to book a berth in the final. Despite the home advantage, the Shreyas Iyer & Co. faced a brutal batting collapse, getting all out for just 101 runs. Later, RCB won the encounter like a walk in the park in 10 overs by eight wickets.
Later, Mumbai Indians (MI) crushed Gujarat Titans (GT) in the Eliminator at the Chandigarh Stadium, winning by 20 runs after posting a mammoth total of 228/5 in the first innings. Eventually, RCB and PBKS made it to the final in Ahmedabad, with the former winning their maiden IPL title.
