IPL 2026: 3 players GT should target in auction

Gujarat Titans have 5 slots available for IPL 2026 mini-auction.
We are just one day away from the IPL 2026 auction. The event will be held on Tuesday, December 16, in Abu Dhabi. A total of 350 players are ready to go down the hammer in search of a deal.
The 2022 IPL winner, the Gujarat Titans, are on the hunt to sign players who can give balance to their squad. GT retained a total of 20 players ahead of the IPL 2026 auction and have five slots remaining to fill. They can sign four overseas players as they head into the auction with a purse value of INR 12.9 crores.
Looking at their purse, it can be hard to pick high-profile names, but they will hope to have some steal deals. On that note, let’s take a look at three players GT should consider targeting in the IPL 2026 mini-auction.
3. Akash Madhwal

GT have Mohammed Siraj, Ishant Sharma, Kagiso Rabada, and Arshad Khan, who are good new-ball bowlers. But GT might need a death bowler, and if it can be an Indian bowler, it will be best for them.
That is where someone like Akash Madhwal can be a good addition to the squad. The 32-year-old player was discovered by the Mumbai Indians in 2023.
He didn’t get many opportunities, but whenever he did, he made his mark. He bowls a heavy ball and uses his cutters well in the final overs. His base price is INR 30 lakh.
2. Wiaan Mulder

Since Hardik Pandya has left GT, they have been searching for a seam-bowling all-rounder who can contribute in both departments.
GT would love to have Cameron Green, but he might get a bigger deal than the whole purse value for the franchise. That is when South African star all-rounder Wiaan Mulder can come in handy for them. Mulder brings his all-round ability to the table.
He is a good seamer and can tonk the ball hard. With GT needing four overseas out of the five remaining slots, they can target Mulder to fill the seam-bowling all-rounder role in the team. Mulder had recently performed well in test matches against India, and this could land him a lucrative deal.
1. David Miller

David Miller was on the crease when GT won the IPL 2022 edition. He played three seasons with them, scoring 950 runs in 41 matches. The left-hander is known for his hard-hitting and finishing ability.
GT need a finisher, as they have released Sherfane Rutherford and can’t depend on uncapped Indian players in pressure situations.
That is when Miller can come in very handy for GT, who has done this before for the franchise. Miller is registered with a price category of INR 2 crore and is someone GT should target.
