IPL 2027 New Trade: T Natarajan returns to SRH; Zeeshan Ansari joins DC in swap deal
Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals locked an exciting trade deal ahead of IPL 2027.
Preparations for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League are in full swing. Every franchise is preparing its plans for the upcoming season.
The IPL 2027 auction will be held in India. The lucrative event will take place in Goa in December 2026, after the last three auctions held in Dubai, Jeddah, and Abu Dhabi.
It will be the final mini auction of the ongoing 2023-27 cycle. The deadline to submit the retention list is November 15, 2026. Meanwhile, the trade window is expected to close one week before the auction.
Delhi Capitals have already made a bold trade, acquiring Rishabh Pant (INR 15 crore) from Lucknow Super Giants in place of Kuldeep Yadav (INR 13.5 crore). Another IPL trade has now taken place, and DC are involved again.

After Kuldeep left DC, the franchise was in search of a wrist-spinner, and their search ended with 26-year-old Zeeshan Ansari. The franchise has traded Zeeshan from Sunrisers Hyderabad for ₹40 lakh.
Notably, SRH struck a swap deal to bring back T Natarajan—their third-highest wicket-taker in the IPL—to the team. The left-arm pacer played for SRH between 2020 and 2024.
He played 55 matches for them and took 65 wickets at an economy rate of 8.82. Now, he will play for the same franchise again in IPL 2027. Notably, DC signed Natarajan for INR 10.75 crore. However, at SRH he will receive a revised fee of ₹5 crore.
SRH are known for their explosive batting unit, but their bowling standards have declined in the last few seasons. Hence, Natarajan’s return will give SRH the much-needed death-bowling option. His experience of playing in Hyderabad will also come in handy for them.
Meanwhile, Zeeshan was impressive in his debut season with SRH; he took three wickets in his first IPL game. He took six wickets in IPL 2025 and will add value to the DC’s spin unit.
When will the IPL 2027 auction take place?
The IPL 2027 auction is likely to take place in mid-December 2026 in Goa.
