Ambati Rayudu was part of CSK in the IPL from 2018 to 2023.

Cricketer-turned-commentator Ambati Rayudu has revealed his top four strongest teams who can qualify for Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Interestingly, the former India batter did not mention Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) name among his top four teams. Rayudu was part of CSK from IPL 2018 to 2023 seasons and also won three titles with the franchise.

Notably, Ambati has won six IPL trophies during his career from 2010 to 2023. Rayudu retired from the tournament after CSK won their fifth title in IPL 2023. Post his retirement, he has been an active commentator in the IPL. He is also part of the commentary panel in IPL 2025.

Ambati Rayudu names his four teams that can qualify for IPL 2025 playoffs

During a Q&A session with IPL 2025 broadcasters Star Sports, Rayudu named his top four teams that he thinks can qualify for the playoffs in the tournament. The 39-year-old feels Gujarat Titans, Punjab Kings, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and Mumbai Indians will make it to the top four towards the end.

Ambati’s prediction about CSK looks quite realistic as CSK have shown a dismal start in IPL 2025. The Men in Yellow have won just two games out of eight so far. With four points, they are the worst performers and grab the tenth spot in the points table.

Interestingly, the MS Dhoni-led side has remained in the bottom spots in the points table for a long time and struggled to jump up the positions. They lost their previous game against MI by a huge margin of nine wickets. They commenced their campaign this season with a victory against the same side by four wickets.

Also, the IPL 2023 champions lost their skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad midway due to an elbow injury. Later, Dhoni took the reins of the side.
