Digvesh Rathi’s sole wicket of the game came in form of his idol Sunil Narine.
Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) spinner Digvesh Rathi picked the crucial wicket of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) opener Sunil Narine during match No. 19 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. After taking the wicket, the right-arm spinner showed his unique style of celebration that has captured the eyeballs of many cricket fans.
Notably, Rathi, after winning Player of the Match award in LSG’s last game, revealed that Sunil Narine is his cricketing idol. The youngster won Player of the Match award in the LSG vs MI clash after picking one wicket for just 21 runs in his four-over spell.
“I’m really enjoying it. I like to get batters out. I watched Sunil Narine bowl and from that time I took to bowling. I want to make my mindset more attacking, want to be like Narine, on how he stays calm even during pressure situations,” Rathi had said after winning the POTM trophy.

Interestingly, it was a dream coming true moment for Rathi in the KKR vs LSG clash on Tuesday, April 9, as he managed to dismiss his idol Narine. Rathi dismissed the KKR opener for 30 runs.
After getting the wicket, Rathi celebrated it with his unique style. He gestured to write his autograph on the field.

Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant-led LSG posted a gigantic total of 238/3 in the clash against KKR. Aiden Markram (47), Mitchell Marsh (81), and Nicholas Pooran (87*) shattered impeccable knocks for the side in the first innings.
Rathi has shown an impressive form in the league so far, capturing seven wickets across five games at an average of 20.28 and an economy of less than 8 at the time of writing this story. He has been part of LSG’s playing XI in all games so far.
