IPL 2025: When will Kagiso Rabada join GT squad back? Captain Shubman Gill reveals

Kagiso Rabada left IPL 2025 midway after playing two games due to a family emergency.
Gujarat Titans (GT) skipper Shubman Gill has provided a fresh update on Kagiso Rabada’s return to the camp for ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Notably, the GT pacer had left the tournament midway due to a family emergency.
On Friday, GT assistant coach Aashish Kapoor had revealed that the franchise is waiting for Rabada’s return to the tournament. He also added that the team is not looking for any replacement for the Proteas pacer. He was the third costliest player for Titans during IPL 2025 mega auction.

However, on Saturday afternoon, during the toss of GT’s home game against Delhi Capitals, the Titans skipper Gill revealed that Rabada will be back within the next two weeks.
We are going with the same team. Hopefully, [Kagiso] Rabada will come back in 10 days or so,” Gill said.
Notably, the South African pacer played two games at the start of the tournament against Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Mumbai Indians (MI). He clinched one wicket each in both matches. Later, he left the tournament midway due to a family emergency. Since the right-armer is set to miss about two more weeks of action, he will probably be back towards the second half of IPL 2025 next month.
Meanwhile, Gill won the toss and opted to bowl first in GT vs DC game at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. It is the 35th match of the season.
“We will bowl first. It is very hot. The wicket looks very good. If you won’t keep much grass, it would crack up. Things have been going well. We don’t think much about the past,” the 25-year-old said.
GT have featured in six games so far in the season. They have won four matches and lost two games. With eight points, they occupy the third spot inIPL 2025 points table. On the other hand, Axar Patel-led DC have won five matches and lost one game out of six. They take the peak position in the latest team standings with 10 points.
