IPL 2025: [Watch] Hardik Pandya dismisses Shahrukh Khan after being hit for a six in GT vs MI clash

The ninth match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Mumbai Indians (MI) is currently underway at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

After being sent to bat first, the home side got off to a fantastic start as openers Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan put together a 78-run partnership for the opening wicket.

Gill, in particular, looked in excellent touch, playing some superb strokes during the powerplay. A crucial breakthrough for MI came in the 16th over when Hardik Pandya dismissed Shahrukh Khan for nine runs.

After smashing the previous ball for a six, Shahrukh fell into Hardik’s slower-ball trap, hitting it straight to deep mid-wicket.

Sai Sudharsan top-scored for the hosts with 63 off 41 balls, laying the foundation for a big total. He was well supported by Jos Buttler (39) and Sherfane Rutherford (18), who contributed crucial runs to propel the team to 196/8.

At the time of writing, MI have lost Rohit Sharma in the first over and are currently at 9/1. They will rely on top-order players Tilak Varma, Ryan Rickelton, and Suryakumar Yadav to anchor the run chase.

The home team will count on their spin duo, Rashid Khan and R Sai Kishore, to weave their magic and restrict MI in the chase.
