Kagiso Rabada picked two wickets in two matches for GT this season.

Gujarat Titans (GT) have faced a big blow in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 as their prominent pacer Kagiso Rabada has left the camp midway. The right-arm pacer has returned to his home country South Africa.

Notably, Rabada was not part of GT’s last game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Arshad Khan replaced him in the playing XI for the game and picked one wicket for 17 runs across his two overs. The Proteas pacer played in GT’s first two games, where he grabbed a total of two wickets.

Kagiso Rabada leaves IPL 2025 due to personal reasons

During GT’s last game against RCB, GT captain Shubman Gill notified that Rabada is missing the clash due to personal reasons. However, a day later, GT have now shared a statement, where they informed that Rabada has flown back home. The statement, however, didn’t clear when the pacer will return or what is the exact reason behind him flying back in a hurry.

“Kagiso Rabada has returned to South Africa to deal with an important personal matter,” the statement from GT read.

The GT pacer picked one wicket for 41 runs across his four overs in the side’s first game against PBKS. In GT’s second encounter against Mumbai Indians, he clinched one wicket for 42 runs across his four-over spell.

Rabada was a member of PBKS in the previous IPL season. GT bought him for INR 10.75 crores at the IPL 2025 mega auction. He was GT’s third costliest player after Jos Buttler (INR 15.75 crores) and Mohammed Siraj (12.25 crores).

GT hold fourth spot in IPL 2025 points table

Meanwhile, Shubman Gill-led GT hold fourth spot in IPL 2025 points table after their recent victory against RCB. They have two victories and one defeat across three games.

GT lost their opening game against PBKS by 11 runs. However, they made a comeback in the next two clashes, defeating MI by 36 runs and RCB by eight wickets.

GT will next face SRH on Sunday, April 6. The venue of the clash is Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
