Kuldeep Yadav slapped Rinku Singh twice after the DC vs KKR match in Delhi.
With a new video posted on their official social media accounts on Wednesday, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) clarified what happened between Rinku Singh and Kuldeep Yadav, who was seen slapping the KKR player following the most recent Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 encounter.
Following a widely shared video of Kuldeep smacking KKR batsman Rinku twice following KKR’s away game against Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi, reports suggested a fight between the two players.
After KKR defeated DC by 14 runs, a reportedly amusing exchange between Indian cricket colleagues Rinku and Kuldeep sparked a flurry of discussion on social media.
Near the fence, Kuldeep, Rinku, and a few other players can be seen chatting and laughing. Kuldeep suddenly gives Rinku a little slap on the cheek, which at first seems to be in jest. Taken aback, Rinku hesitated for a while before Kuldeep gave him another slap.
The two Uttar Pradesh locals, who have a well-established friendship from their days playing domestic cricket, have a tense exchange as Rinku’s attitude changes from amusement to discomfort after the second smack.
Fans’ reactions to a viral video showing Kuldeep playfully hitting Rinku twice during post-match discussions ranged from laughter to indignation. Fans thought there was a serious relationship between the two cricket players based on Rinku’s face following Kuldeep’s initial lighthearted smack.

The video soon went viral on social media and many even called for Kuldeep Yadav to be banned by the BCCI. This also reminded some fans of the ‘slapgate’ incident in 2008 IPL, when Harbhajan Singh had slapped pacer Sreesanth after a Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings match. BCCI had then handed Harbhajan Singh a 11-game ban from the tournament.
KKR post a new video featuring Kuldeep Yadav and Rinku Singh clearing the air
After a viral video surfaced showing DC spinner Kuldeep Yadav slapping KKR batter Rinku Singh twice following the DC vs. KKR game at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi, KKR employed a clever caption to dispel all the rumors that suggested a breach between the two players.
With the following description, KKR shared a new video of Kuldeep and Rinku: “Media (𝘴𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘢𝘯𝘪) vs (𝘥𝘰𝘴𝘵𝘯 𝘬𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘤𝘩 𝘬𝘢) Reality! “Featuring our talented UP boys, 𝘎𝘦𝘩𝘳𝘪 𝘥𝘰𝘴𝘵𝘪.”
