IPL playoffs: How have GT fared in the playoffs over the years?

Gujarat Titans have reached the playoffs in three editions of the IPL.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) was first held in 2008. Over the last 18 seasons, the tournament has thrilled cricket fans with exciting matches. Since the 2022 season, IPL has been a 10-team tournament.
Gujarat Titans (GT) are one of the newest IPL teams. In the 2022 edition, the Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) added two new teams, making it a 10-team tournament. GT and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) were added to the league. Hardik Pandya was named the skipper of the Titans in the first edition.
GT astonished everyone by winning the trophy in their first edition. Pandya left the leadership of the Titans last season and joined the Mumbai Indians (MI), his former team. Shubman Gill was named the skipper of GT in IPL 2024 after Pandya’s ouster.
Titans have been a dominant side over the last four seasons, qualifying for the playoffs in three editions: IPL 2022, IPL 2023, and IPL 2025. On that note, let’s elaborate on how GT have fared in the playoffs over the years.
1. IPL 2022- Champions
Under Hardik Pandya‘s captaincy, GT gave an impeccable performance in their inaugural season. They were the strongest team in the league stage and topped the points table.
In the playoffs, the Titans outplayed the Rajasthan Royals (RR) by seven wickets in Qualifier 1 to seal a place in the final. Later, they outplayed RR once again in the final by seven wickets to clinch the trophy.
2. IPL 2023- Runners-up
The Hardik Pandya & Co. repeated their heroics in the subsequent IPL 2023 season and captured the peak position in the league stage. However, they lost to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Qualifier 1 match by 15 runs.
Titans bounced back in the Qualifier 2 clash and defeated Mumbai Indians (MI) by 62 runs to book a berth in the final. In the nail-biting final, GT lost to CSK by five wickets in the rain-affected game. Titans posted 214/4 in the first innings. Later, Super Kings chased down the Duckworth-Lewis-Stein (DLS) target of 171 runs on the final ball.
