Rajat Patidar sustained a finger injury ahead of IPL 2025 suspension.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will clash with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in their next match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The 65th match of IPL 2025 between the two sides will take place on May 23 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.

Notably, the RCB vs SRH clash was scheduled to be played at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. However, the match has been shifted to Lucknow due to unfavourable weather conditions in Bengaluru. RCB’s last game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Bengaluru on May 17 was washed out due to rain in Bengaluru.

Ahead of the RCB vs SRH match, RCB head coach Andy Flower has provided fitness update of their two crucial batters – Rajat Patidar and Phil Salt. Patidar is the skipper of RCB in IPL 2025, while Salt is the opening batter.

Interestingly, the Rajat Patidar & Co. last played a match Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on May 3. Their last match against KKR did not witness a single delivery. Patidar also faced an injury in his right finger during the team’s previous game against CSK.

Speaking during the pre-match press conference, RCB head coach Flower revealed that the long break has helped Patidar and Salt to get completely fit for the next game.

“We are not too concerned about that (break). I think the boys have worked really well over the entire season and they have played some superb cricket throughout the season. Yes, a little break now, but for a couple of our players that has actually been a healthy thing,” Flower said.

“Rajat Patidar for one has given his right hand a little bit of time to settle after getting quite a bad knock. So, he is fit to bat, which is great. (Phil) Salt was sick for a while, so it has given him a little chance to get home. He has recharged his batteries and he is back at full force,” he further added.

Salt has lent a helping hand to Kohli in the opening slot. The England batsman has slammed 239 runs across nine games at 168.30, including two half-centuries. Patidar has mustered 239 runs across 10 innings at a strike rate of 140.58. He also slammed two fifties in the season.

Meanwhile, RCB have already qualified for the playoffs. They grab the second spot in the points table with 17 points. They have two more games left in the league stage and will eye to win both of them to ensure finishing in the top two spots in the points table. The three-time runners-up will clash with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on May 27 in their last league match.
