Vaibhav Suryavanshi slammed 101 off 38 balls to help RR to beat GT by eight wickets.

The first-ever Indian Premier League (IPL) match was played on April 18, 2008, and Vaibhav Suryavanshi was born three years after IPL’s inception, on March 27, 2011. But he has shown that he belongs to this stage at the age of 14.

It was a spectacular night for Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur as they thrashed Gujarat Titans and chased down 212/2 in just 15.5 overs.

The 14-year-old, who made the headlines when he was picked by RR at the IPL 2025 mega auction, has shown that age doesn’t matter and slammed 101 off 38 balls to help his team get a win. He was unstoppable and broke multiple records in his innings.

IPL 2025: Top 4 records made by Vaibhav Suryavanshi with his 101 in RR vs GT clash

1. Youngest batsman to hit a fifty in the IPL

It was only the third innings in his IPL career for Vaibhav Suryavanshi, and he slammed a sparkling fifty. It was his first 50+ score in the IPL, and he reached his fifty off just 17 balls. With this, he became the youngest batter ever to score a fifty in the IPL at the age of 14 years and 32 days.

2. Youngest batsman to hit a century in the IPL

Not just fifty, Vaibhav Suryavanshi made it a big one. He went on to make it even bigger and slammed a century. He reached the hundred off just 35 balls and became the youngest batter to reach the three-figure mark in the IPL history. Not just in the IPL, he also became the youngest ever batter to score a T20 hundred, surpassing Vijay Zol (18 years and 118 days).

3. Fastest century by an Indian batter in the IPL

Vaibhav Suryavanshi also registered another massive IPL record to his game. He went past Yusuf Pathan’s record to register the fastest ton by an Indian batter in the IPL. Yusuf slammed a 37-ball ton against Mumbai Indians in 2010, and Suryavanshi took a couple of balls fewer than him and registered his name in the record books.

4. Second fastest century in the IPL

It was a blistering knock by the 14-year-old in Jaipur, and he made 101 runs off 38 balls, with seven fours and 11 sixes, and scored at a strike rate of 265.78. He reached his hundred off 35 deliveries, which is the second-fastest IPL ton in history after Chris Gayle’s 30-ball ton in 2013 against Pune Warriors India. Suryavanshi also slammed 11 sixes which is the joint-most by an Indian in an IPL innings.
