IPL 2024: Virat Kohli becomes second batter to score 600+ runs in an IPL season 4 times

Virat Kohli currently has 634 runs in 12 matches for RCB in IPL 2024.
Virat Kohli is having a gala time in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 as he completed 600 runs in the season. He achieved this feat in the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) vs Punjab Kings (PBKS) on May 9, 2024. This match is being played at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala.
The IPL has seen many outstanding performances throughout the years, but scoring 600 runs in a single season demonstrates a player’s brilliance and consistency. It is not enough to have one or two good innings; you must sustain a high level throughout the competition.
The tournament has evolved into a platform for both established stars and new talents to demonstrate their abilities, and performances like these contribute to the league’s excitement and competitiveness.
Not only this, but Virat Kohli added another feather to his IPL records hat as he became only the second batter to score 600 plus runs in an IPL season four times.
Virat Kohli joins KL Rahul at the top of the table in scoring 600-plus runs in a season four times
Virat Kohli entertained the crowd with his classic batting display as he smacked 92 runs in just 47 balls with seven fours and six sixes with a strike rate of 195.74. With this, Virat Kohli completed 600 runs in IPL 2024 and now has 634 runs in 12 matches.
With this performance, Virat Kohli became only the second batter after KL Rahul to accomplish 600 plus runs in an IPL season four times. Following them closely are Chris Gayle and David Warner, who have each scored over 600 runs in three separate seasons.
Here are batters with 600-plus run seasons most time in IPL:
4 – KL Rahul and Virat Kohli
3 – Chris Gayle and David Warner
2 – Faf du Plessis
Thanks to Virat Kohli’s 92 and 55 from Rajat Patidar and 46 by Cameron Green, RCB posted 241/7 in 20 overs against Punjab Kings, after being asked to bat first.
