IPL 2025: [Watch] Yuzvendra Chahal picks sensational hat-trick against CSK

Yuzvendra Chahal picked up four wickets during his spell against CSK.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) are locking horns with each other in 49th match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on Wednesday, April 30. The encounter is taking place at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. PBKS spinner Yuzvendra Chahal picked a fabulous hat-trick during the match to stun the home team.
PBKS skipper Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to bowl first in the match. The MS Dhoni & Co. lost both openers cheaply as Shaik Rasheed and Ayush Mhatre got out for 11 and seven respectively. However, batting up the order, Sam Curran played a stunning knock, scoring 88 runs. Later, Dewald Brewis also added 32 runs.
With Curran’s fabulous knock, CSK were expected to reach a powerful total on the board. However, PBKS key spinner Chahal had some different plans in the death over. The right-arm spinner registered a hat-trick in the 19th over.

Notably, this is Chahal’s second hat-trick in the IPL. He picked a hat-trick against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in IPL 2022 while representing Rajasthan Royals (RR). With Chahal’s charismatic bowling, he also halted the Super Kings from reaching the 200-run mark on the board.
The hosts were bowled out for 190 runs with four deliveries left. Chahal picked four wickets in his three overs and leaked 32 runs.
Meanwhile, Chahal has also become the joint leading wicket-taker for his side in the ongoing IPL 2025 after his four-fer in the CSK vs PBKS game. He now has 13 wickets in 10 matches, equal to that of his teammate Arshdeep Singh. Both account for 13 wickets across nine innings.
