Irfan Pathan also was baffled with India bowling 13 full tosses in the second IND vs SA T20I.
Cricketer-turned-commentator Irfan Pathan has questioned Suryakumar Yadav and Shubman Gill’s poor form after India’s defeat against South Africa in the second T20I on Thursday, December 11. Pathan also blasted the Indian team for their poor bowling strategy in the encounter, which they lost by 51 runs.
India T20I vice-captain Gill has completely failed with the bat in the ongoing series against the Proteas, getting out for 4 and 0 in two matches. In the second T20I, he lost his wicket for a duck in the first over itself, giving an early blow to the hosts in the 214-run chase. Overall in the last 14 T20Is, he has been averaging 23 with no fifties.
Captain Suryakumar’s batting struggles have also continued against the Proteas, as he got out for 12 and 5 in the first two games. In the previous clash, he started well with a boundary but became a victim of Marco Jansen in the fourth over.
Irfan Pathan questions Suryakumar Yadav and Shubman Gill’s poor form

Taking to X (formerly Twitter) after the second T20I against South Africa, former Indian pacer Irfan Pathan targeted Gill and Yadav’s poor batting form. He also attacked the Men in Blue for bowling 13 full tosses in the encounter.
“Shubman Gill & Surya Kumar’s form? 13 full tosses today while bowling. How to negate that? These are the question team India needs to answer going forward. Hopefully they answer them with positive impact,” the 41-year-old tweeted.
Notably, Indian bowlers lost the plot after opting to field first, leaking 213 runs in the first innings. Arshdeep Singh’s nine wides across his 4-over spell took a big toll on India’s bowling, as they also struggled to get wickets.
Quinton De Kock produced a one-man show with his 90-run knock, with Donovan Ferreira (30*) and David Miller (20*) making notable contributions with the bat in the end. Yadav and Gill losing their wickets for single digits in the powerplay overs came as a big blow for the hosts. Eventually, India were bowled out for 162 runs, with Tilak Varma hitting a half-century.
