[Watch] Irfan Pathan & Yusuf Pathan engage in ugly on field fight at World Championship of Legends 2024

Irfan Pathan and Yusuf Pathan stitched a partnership of 55 runs in 40 balls.

India champions all-rounder Irfan Pathan was spotted having an ugly on-field fight with his brother Yusuf Pathan during the World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2024 match against South Africa Champions at the County Ground in Nottingham on July 10.

After being asked to bat first by the Yuvraj Singh-led India Champions, the South Africa Champions posted a massive total of 210/8 in 20 overs. The 30-year-old opener Jacques Snyman smashed 73 runs, whereas wicket-keeper batter Richard Levi played a blistering knock of 25-ball 60 runs.

While chasing, India Champions batter Yusuf Pathan played an unbeaten knock of 54 runs in 44 deliveries, while Robin Uthappa (23) and Suresh Raina (21) added crucial runs as they managed to reach 156/6 in 20 overs.

The Yuvraj-led side lost the match by 54 runs but they qualified for the semi-finals of the ongoing WCL 2024. Whereas, the South African Champions were knocked out of the tournament, along with the England Champions.

The Pathan brothers had heated moment after Irfan was run out during WCL 2024 match

The incident happened during the 19th over of the India Champions innings, when legendary pacer Dale Steyn came into the attack with Irfan on strike and Yusuf at the non-striker’s end.

Off the first delivery of the over, Irfan hit the ball in the air and it bounced just before the South Africa Champions fielder Dane Vilas. After taking a run Irfan was looking to steal a second, but Yusuf hesitated, leaving his brother stranded in the middle of the pitch.

Vilas threw the ball towards Steyn at the non-striker’s end, where the pacer dislodged the bails, which led to the fall of Irfan’s wicket after he had played a knock of 35 runs.

While walking back to the dugout, Irfan looked at his brother Yusuf and yelled at him in frustration. The video of the incident is going viral across social media handles.
