Phil Salt returned to the UK after sustaining a finger injury in IPL 2026.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) opener Phil Salt played a great role in franchise’s success in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. However, after six games, he sustained a finger injury while fielding in the clash against Delhi Capitals (DC) on April 18.
As a result, he returned to United Kingdom (UK) for further assessment and management of his injury. In his absence, RCB picked his England teammate Jacob Bethell as an opener alongside Virat Kohli.
Earlier, there were reports that Salt had returned to India and joined the RCB camp. However, he was absent from RCB’s previous two clashes against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Mumbai Indians (MI). Now, some fresh reports have claimed that Salt is yet to join the RCB squad and is still in UK.
