Due to multiple goof-ups by GT players in bowling and fielding in the Qualifier 1, the discussion among fans about the match being fixed started doing the rounds on social media.
Speaking about the match, RCB posted a gigantic total of 254/5 in the first innings. Virat Kohli (43) and Devdutt Padikkal (30) took the scoreboard to 76 runs in the powerplay, providing a blistering start. Later, Rajat Patidar hammered an unbeaten 93 runs off 33 deliveries, while Krunal Pandya added 43 runs.
GT bowlers looked completely helpless against RCB’s batting. Kagiso Rabada and Jason Holder clinched two wickets each. Notably, this is the highest ever total posted by any team in the IPL playoffs.
Meanwhile, both RCB and GT finished at the top spot in the points table after the league stage with 18 points. Out of 14 games, both of them won nine matches and lost five.
