Ishan Kishan has been out of international cricket since T20I series against Australia last year.

Wicket-keeper Ishan Kishan was in talk in the last four months for other reasons. Kishan’s sudden decision to leave the South African tour midway sparked major controversy in Indian cricket. Further Kishan was asked to take part in the Indian domestic tournaments, but he refused to do so. Rather, he was spotted preparing for the Indian Premier League (IPL) along with Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper Hardik Pandya.

Mumbai Indians wicket-keeper Kishan was training along with Pandya brothers in Baroda. Ahead of the IPL 2024, during a practice session at MI camp, Kishan was found imitating former MI legend and bowling coach Lasith Malinga. Kishan has been part of the Mumbai Indians setup since IPL 2018 and has won two titles along with MI franchise.

A clip has gone viral from Mumbai Indians camp, where Kishan was spotted wearing a wig imitating Malinga’s haircut. Kishan in a moment rushed to imitate Malinga’s bowling action. Malinga is currently bowling coach of MI.

Mumbai Indians posted video on social media with a caption, “Malinga banne ka tareeka bohot 𝒌𝒆𝒛𝒖𝒂𝒍 hai Ishan Bhai (A casual attempt to be Lasith Malinga).”

Ishan Kishan, who pulled out of South African tour earlier this year citing mental fatigue, looks to be enjoying his time at the MI camp. Hardik Pandya also posted a video on his social media account talking to Mumbai teammates and bowling coach Malinga. Hardik Pandya will be leading the side in the IPL 2024.

Mumbai Indians will open their campaign against last year’s runners-up Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium on 24th March. Mumbai Indians will look to wash away the disappointment of previous two seasons. The IPL 2024 is set to begin on 22nd March with a high-voltage encounter between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challenger Bangalore at Chepauk.
