Ishan Kishan and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi will be in action during the IND vs AFG T20I series.

East Zone, under the captaincy of Ishan Kishan, made history and clinched their third Duleep Trophy title. They lifted the trophy by defeating the South Zone in the final. Captain Ishan won the Player of the Match award for his magnificent innings in the final.

He scored 270 and 80 in the final and played a key role in the triumph. The final ended in a draw, and the East Zone were declared the winner based on their first-innings lead. They scored a mammoth 708 runs and dismissed the South Zone for 336 runs in the first innings.

The 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was also part of the winning team. He played a quick knock of 44 off 37 balls in the first innings. He even captained the team in the semi-final when Ishan was not on the field.

Sooryavanshi showcased his leadership skills and made some stunning DRS calls. In this context, a video is going viral featuring Ishan and Vaibhav, in which the captain is seen pulling the 15-year-old player’s leg.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi grabbed headlines during the Duleep Trophy 2026 not only for his batting but also for his on-field contributions. Even in the final, he was seen suggesting captain Ishan to take a DRS, which earned his team a wicket.

Now, after the final, a video is circulating on social media featuring the two left-handers, where Ishan is seen pulling Vaibhav’s leg.

He said, “He has taken all the credit for the reviews everywhere. Even though I was about to take the review, he would come and say it so confidently, ‘I’ll come to you’. Then the internet will be like: Vaibhav.”

The young gun immediately responded in his characteristic fun-loving style, reminding Ishan of moments when he was off the field, and Sooryavanshi stepped in to handle things.

The 15-year-old said, “Aur jab field ke bahar jaa rahe the tab kon le raha tha review? Yeh bhi toh bata dijiye. (And when we were going off the field, who was taking the reviews then? Tell us that too!)”

With this, Ishan concluded his remarks and praised the young player’s impressive performance during the tournament. Notably, Vaibhav was involved in four DRS calls during the semi-final and final, and three of them were correct.

The duo has reached Delhi and joined Team India. They will be in action for the upcoming T20I series against Afghanistan starting on September 13. All three matches will be played at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
