Shadab Khan is captaining Islamabad United in PSL 2026. They lost their opening game against Multan Sultans by five wickets. Peshawar Zalmi, led by Babar Azam, won their opening game against Rawalpindiz by five wickets.

The two teams now were up against each other as the match was scheduled to start at 7:30 PM IST, but rain and strong winds did not allow the toss to take place.

According to reports from weather.com, the temperature of Lahore City on Tuesday was 30° Celcius in the morning and dropped to 23° Celcius at night. The sky is cloudy and the chances of rain will drop to 1% after 9 PM. The humidity is 59% at night, with strong winds at 18 km/hour.
The ground staff also found it challenging to protect the pitch due to strong winds. They struggled to cover the pitch amid strong winds and some ground staff members also fell on the ground.
Notably, the stadium witnessed a lot of rain ahead of the match. The rain stopped after 7 PM but the wet outfield did not allow the match to begin. The cut-off time for a five-over game was 9:45 PM but it was eventually called off.
Since the match ended with no result, both teams were awarded one point each. Peshawar Zalmi now take the second spot in the points table with three points. Islamabad United are in sixth place with one point.
