Jamie Smith slammed his test century in just 80 balls.

England Cricket Team keeper-batter Jamie Smith came up with a brutal batting effort in the ongoing second test against the Indian Cricket Team. The match between the two teams is taking place at the Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham.

Jamie Smith has brought England back in the ongoing second test against India. In response to India’s 587, the hosts had a terrible start with the bat as they lost early wickets and were left reeling at 84 for five. However, it was then that Smith, along with Harry Brook, joined hands and bailed India out of trouble.

Smith, in particular, looked in threatening mode as he attacked the Indian bowlers and scored runs at a quick rate. The keeper-batter played the bowlers with utmost ease and made sure that he took the pressure away from Harry Brook.

Smith raced to a quickfire fifty and made sure he didn’t throw away the start that he had. The right-hander got even more aggressive and brought up a magnificent ton in just 80 balls that put India on the back foot and under pressure.

Smith, along with Harry Brook (91*), added 165 runs for the sixth wicket at lunch on day three. They counter-attacked the Indian bowlers, slamming them all over the park. The visitors had no answers to their domination as they looked extremely threatening.

Thanks to their brutal batting, England made up for the early losses. The hosts had a run rate of over five, which in itself says the kind of impact that they made with the bat in the first session of day three.
