"I always love.."- Jasprit Bumrah looks forward to challenging England tour

Jasprit Bumrah will lead the pace attack of India in England test series.

India are all set to clash with England in a test series starting next month. During India’s tour of England 2025, both teams will play a total of five test matches. The first test will commence on June 20 at Headingley in Leeds. The series will conclude in the first week of August with the final test at Kennington Oval, London.

Jasprit Bumrah will be a crucial pacer for India during the England tour. He will also lead India’s pace attack against the Englishmen. Notably, Bumrah will be the most experienced test member of Indian squad after retirements of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Both the batting legends announced their retirement from test cricket earlier this month.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) then appointed Shubman Gill as the new test skipper of India. Rishabh Pant will be his deputy. Hence, Gill has a big challenge ahead of him against England, who are known to dominate in their home conditions.

Playing in England is always a different challenge: Jasprit Bumrah

During a conversation with former Australia captain Michael Clarke on Beyond23 channel on YouTube, Jasprit Bumrah said playing in England is always a different challenge. However, he loves to bowl with the Dukes ball and looks forward to the forthcoming series.

“Playing in England is always a different challenge. I always love bowling with the Dukes ball. But I don’t know how much the Dukes ball is doing right now because there are always constant changes to the ball,” the right-arm pacer said.

“But the weather, the swinging conditions. And then when the ball becomes soft, there’s always a challenge. So I always look forward to playing in England,” he further added.

Notably, Jasprit Bumrah has a brilliant record in England in the longest format. He has played nine games and accounts for 37 wickets at an average of 26.27. He has also scalped two five-wicket hauls. He was part of the England tour in 2018 and 2021. He also played in England during the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2019-21 final between India and New Zealand.

Bumrah showed a wonderful form in India’s last test series against Australia Down Under. He finished as the highest wicket-taker in the five-match series and won the Player of the Series award. Hence, he will have a huge responsibility in the pace department during the England tour.

He will have the support of pacers like Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Akash Deep, and Arshdeep Singh in the pace department.
