Indian Cricket Team and England Cricket Team are wrestling in third test of the five-match series at the Lord’s. Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah captured a spectacular five-wicket haul in first innings of the match. Getting the crucial wickets of England batters like Ben Stokes, Harry Brook, and Joe Root, Bumrah registered figures of 5/74 in the first innings.
With Bumrah’s brilliant spell, India bundled out England for 387 runs in the first innings. Joe Root scored a crucial century, while Jamie Smith and Brydon Carse scored half-centuries for England after they won the toss and opted to bat first in the match.
Notably, Bumrah grabbed his 15th five-wicket haul in tests. With his five-wicket haul in the encounter, his name was engraved on the Lord’s Honours Board. However, the right-arm pacer recalled another special moment at the Lord’s from the 2021 tour.
When Shami bhai and I won the match with our batting: Jasprit Bumrah on most special moment at Lord’s
Speaking in the post-match press conference on day 2, Bumrah said that his match-winning partnership with Mohammed Shami at the Lord’s in 2021 is a more special moment than getting his name scripted on Lord’s Honours Board.
“For me, the most memorable Test match was the last one in England, when Shami bhai and I won the match with our batting. So obviously, those memories will always stay with me,” he said.
“Getting your name on the honour’s board is a good thing – when my son grows up, I can tell him that my name is on the honour’s board here and in many other places too. But memories stay with you the most,” he added.
Recalling the encounter, Bumrah said that memory is more special to him because Shami and he helped India make a comeback in the encounter.
“In that match, I had taken only three or four wickets, but that memory is very special to me because we came from behind in the game and bowled them out in sixty overs. So, for me, memories are more important,” he said.
“Obviously, whenever I play for India, I want to contribute as much as I can. And when you’re able to do that, it feels good that you’ve put your team in a strong position. That’s always been my thought process,” he added.

Notably, in second test of the 2021 tour at the Lord’s, Shami and Bumrah etched an 89-run stand for the ninth wicket in the second innings and helped India to set a 272-run target for England. While Shami scored an unbeaten 56 runs, Bumrah added an unbeaten 34 runs. Later, India demolished England for just 120 runs and won the encounter by 151 runs.
Talking about the ongoing test, KL Rahul scored a century in the first innings. Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja slammed half-centuries as India surpassed 350 plus on day 3 for the loss of six wickets.
