'All good, No complaints' India captain Jasprit Bumrah ready to go full throttle in his next assignment

Jasprit Bumrah was adjudged “Man of the series” in the three-match T20I series against Ireland.
A washout prevented a possible whitewash of Ireland team in Malahide. Persistent rain in Dublin couldn’t let the third T20I happen. The match was called off without a ball being bowled. The series ended with India winning the tour by 2-0 in a three-match T20I series. The umpires had an inspection to even try for a five-over game, but it was not possible due to the poor condition of the outfield. It was a rain-hit series, as the first T20I game also saw a calculated result with the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method. The Ireland tour was an opportunity for the youngsters, who grabbed it by both hands, along with a great comeback for captain Jasprit Bumrah.
Bumrah won the Player of the Series
Indian captain Jasprit Bumrah won the Player of the Series award for his magnificent comeback performance against Ireland. He picked up four wickets in two matches. Bumrah picked up two wickets in his first over of the first T20I and then bowled a maiden wicket in the final over of the second T20I. He was disappointed to not have the opportunity to bowl once again in the series and expressed his disappointment. Bumrah said, “It was frustrating waiting for a game to happen. This was something we did not see coming because the weather was fine earlier.
Leading for the first time in a full series, Bumrah also revealed he loved captaining the side on the tour and added, “It’s been a lot of fun and an honour captaining them. They were eager and enthusiastic, even when rain was around. Whenever you get the opportunity to lead your side, anyone would love to do that”. He also said that he didn’t have any problems coming back from a long injury break into the series. Bumrah said, “All good, no complaints”. Bumrah’s next assignment will be a huge one, as India are set to take on Pakistan on September 2 in the Asia Cup.
Stirling took positives from the series
Irish captain Paul Stirling was disappointed with the series result, but he also thought of some positives from the series against India. Stirling said, “Just periods of good cricket from us in patches. There are lots of positives, but it’s about finishing those games off. Hopefully, we will take these lessons. It’s brilliant to have India over and play in front of a good crowd here. It would’ve been better if we could have got some fresh faces out here tonight”. Ireland have qualified for the T20 World Cup next year. Ireland had a few good battles against India, but they could not hold on to the momentum in the series.
