Jasprit Bumrah and Rishabh Pant are expected to play the fourth test at Old Trafford, as per the reports in Sky Sports.
The Indian Cricket Team and the England Cricket Team are gearing up for the fourth test of the five-match series at Old Trafford, Manchester, slated to commence from July 23. For visitors, there is uncertainty over the availability of Rishabh Pant and Jasprit Bumrah for the penultimate game of the series.
Notably, Bumrah will only play three tests out of five during India’s tour of England 2025 due to his workload management. The right-arm pacer has played two games so far, having been rested in the second test at Edgbaston. Now, he might be rested in the next game so that he is available for the final encounter.
On the other hand, Pant sustained a finger injury during the third test. As a result, he did not keep the stumps, and Dhruv Jurel took over the keeping duties. The left-hander also looked in a lot of pain while batting and hence might miss the next game if he is not able to recover from his injury.
Jasprit Bumrah and Rishabh Pant likely to play the fourth test- Reports
According to reports by Sky Sports, both Bumrah and Pant will be part of the fourth test. The reports suggest that India aims to level the series in the fourth test. Hence, Bumrah will be picked in the playing XI for the encounter.
“Ahead of the series, Bumrah hinted that he would only play three Tests during the series. Sky Sports News understands that the fast bowler will feature at Old Trafford, with India aiming to level the series”, the report said.

The report also added that Pant is likely to recover before the start of the fourth test.
“Pant picked up a finger injury during the first innings while wicketkeeping. He was fit enough to bat but was unable to keep wicket. It is understood that he will be fit enough to take the gloves for the fourth Test”, it further said.
Notably, Pant played a brilliant knock of 74 runs in the first innings of the Lord’s test. However, he got out for nine runs in the second innings. Bumrah clinched a five-wicket haul in the first innings. India lost the game by 22 runs in a nail-biting clash.
Meanwhile, England have announced their squad for the fourth test. Liam Dawson has replaced spinner Shoaib Bashir in England’s squad. They lead the five-match series 2-1.
