Jasprit Bumrah picked two wickets in the first session on day 1 of the first IND vs SA test.
The Indian Cricket Team fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been at his best with the ball in the ongoing first test against the South Africa Cricket Team. The series opener between the two teams is taking place at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
South Africa, who won the toss and opted to bat, had a decent start with the bat with Aiden Markram (32) and Ryan Rickelton (23) adding 57 runs for the opening stand. Just when it seemed the visitors were moving away with the game, Bumrah brought his team back into the game.
Bumrah removed both the openers with two brilliant balls and was also about to remove Temba Bavuma as well. The fast bowler troubled the South African captain right from the start and also hit him flush on the pads on the last ball of the 13th over.
Bumrah bowled a in-slanting short of a good length ball to which Bavuma played down the wrong line and was hit on the back thigh. Bumrah was confident but India didn’t go with the DRS as keeper Rishabh Pant suggested that the ball was high.
What caught the attention of many was Bumrah’s conversation as the team was discussing the review. He called South Africa captain ‘Bauna,’ which was caught by the stump-mic. For the unversed, Bauna in Hindi refers to people of short height.
