Jaydev Unadkat has played only two test matches in his 12-years long career.

India’s World Test Championship final squad is hit by multiple injuries just a month before the big game. Lucknow Super Giants captain KL Rahul and pace bowler Jaydev Unadkat are ruled out for the remainder of the IPL 2023. Jaydev Unadkat injured his shoulder during Lucknow’s practice session before the RCB game. Unadkat has also left the Lucknow camp. Jaydev Unadkat is the only left-arm-pacer in the Indian team for the World Test Championship final against Australia. The WTC final will be played at The Oval from 7th June. BCCI is keen on making him fit before the big clash against Australia in England.

Team management is working rigorously on Unadkat

This is India’s second World Test Championship final and they do not want to take any chance this time. They lost the previous final in 2021 against New Zealand due to selection blunders done by the team management. Jaydev Unadkat being the only left-arm-pacer will have an impact in the big game. Unadkat is now undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy. Unadkat and Indian team management are hopeful that he will be in England playing the WTC Final against Australia. Jaydev Unadkat has played only 2 test matches in his career. Unadkat after making his debut in 2010, got another chance in 2022 against Bangladesh.

The IPL 2023 is going to end on 28th May in Ahmedabad. The Indian team will have only one week in their hand to regroup before the big final on 7th June. BCCI’s sports and science department and medical team will work rigorously on players like Jaydev Unadkat, and KL Rahul. Apart from these two, Umesh Yadav and Shardul Thakur are also struggling due to niggles. Indian team management will not take any chances before the tournament final. A big and hectic tournament like the Indian Premier League has always been in bad news, especially before a big international tournament.
