"I am getting goosebumps…"- Jhulan Goswami reacts to prize money for winners of ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025

Jhulan Goswami thanked ICC for the hefty prize money for the tournament.
Former Indian women‘s cricketer Jhulan Goswami has thanked the International Cricket Council (ICC) for the increase in prize money for the winners of ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025. ICC has announced an overall prize pool of USD 13.88 million for the tournament.
Notably, this is a 297% increase from the previous edition in 2022. This is also more than the prize pool of the Men’s Cricket World Cup in 2023, which had a total prize pool of USD 10 million.
The winners of ICC Women’s Cricket World 2025 will get USD 4.48 million, while the runners-up will earn USD 2.24 million. The semi-finalists will get USD 1.12 million. Every team is guaranteed to get an amount of USD 2,50,000.

While speaking on ICC review, Jhulan said that she got goosebumps after learning about the prize money of ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025. She also feels that women’s cricket will get a lot of boost with the ICC’s step.
“I am getting goosebumps. [The increased prize money] is a very good thing. I would like to thank ICC from my side. The way they have thought of this, I think definitely women’s cricket will get a lot of boost in this,” she said.
“And for [budding women’s cricketers’] parents, too. It is a reassurance that this sport can be played professionally and taken forward. So, I think this is great news for women’s cricket and I think this will definitely motivate all the players as well,” she added.
ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 will commence on September 30. India and Sri Lanka will host the entire tournament where eight teams – India Women, Sri Lanka Women, Pakistan Women, Bangladesh Women, Australia Women, New Zealand Women, England Women, and South Africa Women – will battle for the title.
