Jitesh Sharma to move from Vidarbha to Baroda ahead of next Indian domestic season - Reports

Jitesh Sharma didn’t feature in any game for Vidarbha in Ranji Trophy 2024-25.
Indian wicket-keeper batter Jitesh Sharma is expected to change his domestic team from Vidarbha to Baroda for the next domestic season, according to reports. Sharma is currently part of Vidarbha team in domestic cricket.
The 31-year-old did not play any games for Vidarbha in the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 season. However, he was part of the squad for the Vijay Hazare Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy under skipper Karun Nair. Notably, Vidarbha won the Ranji Trophy 2024-25.
Since his First-Class (FC) cricket debut in 2015-16 season, Sharma has played only 18 FC matches, scoring 661 runs in 27 innings. He has also played 56 List A games, hitting 1533 runs at an average of 32.61. In 141 T20s, he has mustered 2886 runs at a strike rate of 152.29. Notably, Sharma has also played nine T20I games for India.
Krunal Pandya is helping Jitesh Sharma switch his domestic team
According to a report in ESPNCricinfo, Baroda captain Krunal Pandya is helping Jitesh Sharma switch his domestic team. Both Pandya and Sharma represent the same franchise, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Sharma was last seen in IPL 2025, where his franchise won the title by defeating Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the final. Sharma joined the franchise ahead of the 2025 season. He played a key role as a wicket-keeper batter and the team’s finisher.
Sharma was the vice-captain of RCB and led the team in a few games towards the end of the tournament in Rajat Patidar’s absence. At a strike rate of 176.35, the right-handed batsman scored 261 runs in 11 innings in the tournament.
