England and Pakistan’s second Test at Lord’s marked yet another gripping chapter in a rivalry that has often witnessed some high-quality fast bowling. With both sides slightly struggling with the bat, the bowlers have had a gala time at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground in London.

For England, the return of pacer Jofra Archer to consistent Test cricket has added another dimension to their bowling attack. The 31-year-old is largely known for his genuine pace and ability to trouble batters with steep bounce. His presence in that English attack alongside Josh Tongue, Gus Atkinson and Ollie Robinson has made them a lethal set.

Meanwhile, Pakistan entered the Lord’s Test with some hope after suffering a heavy defeat in the first Test at Headingley. Babar Azam’s return stirred a spark of motivation within the Asian side, as the team management thought that he could help them resist the brutal English pace attack following that carnage in Headingley.

England bowlers have dominated Pakistan batters largely in the contest between bat and ball, as a result of which, despite being dismissed for just 208 runs in their second innings, England have posted a massive 389-run target in front of the visitors.

During Day 4 of the ongoing Test between England and Pakistan at Lord’s, the moment that caught immediate attention came when Jofra Archer produced a vicious short delivery to dismiss the Pakistani skipper Babar Azam.

After two early wickets fell in Pakistan’s second innings, captain Babar Azam arrived at the crease. Archer banged one shot into the pitch, generating significant pace and bounce. The attempted shot took Babar by surprise, as he could not control the shot, with the ball finding its way to their fielders.

The Pakistan captain was dismissed for 6 runs, adding to the difficulties faced by the visitors’ top order. Archer’s comeback has been one of the major storylines surrounding England’s Test campaign, and this wicket has once again proved why Archer remains one of the most dangerous bowlers when fully fit.

How many runs did Babar Azam manage in the Lord’s Test in 2026?

Babar managed a total of 14 runs across both innings (8 in the first innings and 6 in the second) during the second Test against England at Lord’s in August 2026.

When was the last time Pakistan won a Test at Lord’s?

Pakistan last won a Test match at Lord’s in May 2018, when they defeated England by 9 wickets.
