Rishabh Pant got injured on day one of the ongoing Lord’s test.

England Cricket Team and Indian Cricket Team are wrestling in third test of the five-match series at the Lord’s Cricket Ground in London. On day one, Indian wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant suffered an injury on his finger while trying to stop a delivery off Jasprit Bumrah. Following that, he had to leave the field as he looked in immense pain.

Dhruv Jurel was called in as a substitute wicket-keeper and kept the stumps for the rest of the game, including the second innings. According to ICC rules, a substitute wicket-keeper can keep the stumps in case of injury to the primary wicket-keeper in a test match. However, he is not allowed to bat or bowl.

Notably, Pant came out to bat in the first innings. The left-handed batsman played a crucial knock of 74 runs off 112 deliveries. He also etched a crucial 141-run partnership with KL Rahul for the fourth wicket. However, he got a run-out in the first session on day three.

Karthik, who is one of the commentators for Sky Sports in the ongoing test series between India and England, made a hilarious comment. On day four, he said on air that Pant should share his match fees with Jurel. His hilarious remark made other commentators laugh on air.

“Rishabh Pant should share his match fees with Dhruv Jurel,” Karthik said during commentary.

Talking about the Lord’s test, England piled up 387/10 in the first innings after opting to bat first. Joe Root slammed a century, while Jasprit Bumrah clinched a five-wicket haul in the first innings.

With a century by KL Rahul, India also scored 387/10 in the first innings. In the second innings, India bundled out England for 192 runs and set themselves a target of 193 runs to chase.
