Karun Nair is making his comeback into the Indian test team after a long gap of eight years.
Indian Cricket Team batter Karun Nair faced a massive injury scare ahead of the first test against the England Cricket Team. As per the reports in RevSportz, it is learned that the middle-order batter was hit on the ribs as he failed to tackle the lethal delivery from Prasidh Krishna.
Karun Nair, along with the entire Indian team, is putting in the hard yards ahead of the first game against England. The series opener between the teams will be played at Headingley in Leeds from Friday (20th June).
Karun Nair reportedly coped a nasty blow on the left side of his stomach, and the impact was very much visible as the area where he got hit turned red. The physios also checked on him. Thankfully, nothing was serious, as after a gentle checkup, he was seen sharing laughs with some members of the team.
Karun Nair slammed double century in India A vs England Lions
Karun Nair is making his comeback into the Indian test team after a long gap of eight years. The right-hander last featured in Indian whites in 2017 and, after that, didn’t get an opportunity despite consistently scoring runs in the domestic circuit. However, the retirements of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli opened the gates for him.
Karun Nair started the England tour on a high as he slammed a blistering double century while playing for India A in the first unofficial test against England Lions. In the second game too, he looked in decent touch and played a valuable hand for the team.
With the kind of form that he has shown, Nair is expected to be in the Indian XI for the first test against England. He is likely to bat at six and will be playing a crucial role for the team in the entire series.
