Kedar Jadhav joins RCB as David Willey's replacement for remainder of IPL 2023
Kedar Jadhav has played 93 IPL games in his career, will be a crucial member in RCB's middle order.
Royal Challengers Bangalore has picked up Kedar Jadhav as David Willey's replacement for the remainder of the IPL 2023. Jadhav went unsold in the IPL 2023 auction. Jadhav will be joining the Royal Challengers Bangalore squad this week. Royal Challengers Bangalore will be taking on Lucknow Super Giants on Monday night. David Willey after taking part in 4 games for RCB this season got injured and was ruled out for the entire season of the Indian Premier League. RCB has brought Jadhav on board at his base price of 1 crore.
Jadhav's second inning with RCB
Right-hand batter Kedar Jadhav started his IPL journey with Delhi Daredevils in IPL 2010. He has not been part of any franchise since IPL 2021. This will be his second stint playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the league. He was part of the RCB franchise during IPL 2016-17. Jadhav has played 93 IPL games and has scored 1196 runs in the league. He rose to prominence and got into the Indian team because of his aggressive cricket in the league. Since the last few seasons, he has struggled a lot to score big. His game looked a bit changed from how he was when he joined in 2016. Jadhav was also part of Kochi Tuskers Kerala (2011), Chennai Super Kings (2018-20), and Sunriser Hyderabad (2021).
After Josh Hazlewood, Reece Topley & Rajat Patidar, David Willey is another big setback for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. RCB have not specified the type of injury Willey had. Kedar Jadhav’s inclusion will bring in some experience in RCB middle order which is struggling in the IPL 2023. RCB’s top order looked heavy but their middle order was not complimenting them in the performance. Jadhav will prove a crucial member of RCB’s middle order this season.
