Kieron Pollard to lead as MI New York announce squad for MLC 2023

Cricket’s action will shift to the United States of America next month. The first-ever league in the Major League Cricket tournament will kick off in America. MLC will commence on 13th July. MI New York have announced their squad for the league and a total of 9 international players have been signed to take part in the first-ever major cricket tournament in the United States of America. Mumbai Indians legend and former all-rounder Keiron Pollard will be leading the MI New York squad in the tournament. Pollard is also currently associated with the Mumbai Indians as batting coach. Before the IPL 2023, he announced his retirement from the IPL.
Big guns in the MI New York
MI New York have also included Afghanistan’s leg-spinner Rashid Khan who is also part of their SA20 league franchise MI Cape Town. Along with these two big names, MI New York will be entering the field with Trent Boult, Tim David, Dewald Brewis, Kagiso Rabada, Jason Behrendorff, Nicolas Pooran, and Namibian all-rounder David Weise. Along with these big international names, they will also have USA legend former captain Steven Taylor in their setup. The squad size in the MLC tournament is a maximum of 19 players. Along with the big international names, MI New York will be having a good mix of local youth.
MI New York squad for MLC 2023:
They have announced MI Cape Town's general manager Robin Peterson as the head coach of their MI New York franchise. MI’s former member Lasith Malinga will be taking the role of bowling coach. J. Arun Kumar will be batting and James Pamment will be MI New York’s fielding coach. MI will now have 4 teams in various leagues around the world. They have Mumbai Indians in the IPL, MI Cape Town in SA20, MI Emirates in the Emirates League, and now MI New York in Major League Cricket in the USA.
