How much will Mitchell Starc earn per delivery in IPL 2024?

Mitchell Starc was acquired by KKR for INR 24.75 crores at the IPL 2024 auction.

Mitchell Starc made it to the history books when Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) broke the bank for him in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 player auction in December 2023.

KKR spent a whopping INR 24.75 crores to acquire the services of the Australian fast bowler, making him the most expensive player in the history of the IPL. On the same day, his Australian teammate Pat Cummins became the first player to cross the INR 20-crore mark in the auction.

This is not the first time that KKR have acquired the services of Mitchell Starc. They bought the lethal Aussie pacer at the IPL 2018 mega auction for a whopping INR 9.4 crores, but he later pulled out of the league citing injury.

However, this is the first time that Mitchell Starc will be playing in the IPL since 2015. He had a stint with Royal Challengers Bangalore (now Royal Challengers Bengaluru) in 2014 and 2015, where he picked 14 and 20 wickets respectively.

How much will Mitchell Starc earn per match in IPL 2024?

Starc, with an INR 24.75-crore deal, is the most expensive player in the history of the IPL. But, have you wondered how much he would be making per match? If Starc plays only 14 games this season (Given KKR don’t qualify for the playoffs), he would earn INR 1.76 crores per match, which is more than what many players earn through the entire season.

If Starc plays 17 games in this season (maximum number of matches a team can play in a season), then he will earn INR 1.45 crores per match.

How much will Mitchell Starc earn per delivery in IPL 2024?

Starc will easily make more than INR 1 crore in a match. But, have you wondered how much money he will earn for bowling a single delivery? The sum would be more than what a common man makes per annum.

If Starc plays 14 games in the season (given KKR don’t qualify for the playoffs) and bowls his quota of four overs in all the games, he will bowl a total of 56 overs, which equates to 336 deliveries. As such, for bowling one delivery he will earn INR 7,36,607.

If KKR go on to play 17 matches in this season (maximum number of matches a team can play in a season) and Starc bowls four overs in each of the games, he will bowl a total of 68 overs, which converts to 408 deliveries. In this case, he would make INR 6,06,617 per delivery in IPL 2024.

In a bid to win their third IPL title, KKR will kickoff their IPL 2024 campaign against Sunrisers Hyderabad on March 23, Saturday at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
