Kranti Gaud’s father to get his "police' job back following daughter’s heroics in ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025

Kranti Gaud picked nine wickets in ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025.

Indian Women’s Cricket Team pacer Kranti Gaud played a crucial role in India winning ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025. Taking the new ball, she made an impact in almost every game and helped her team end the ICC title drought. 

Not only did her heroics with the ball make the entire nation and her family proud, but also she helped her father get back his job. Kranti’s father Munna Singh Gaud is all set to be reinstated as a police constable after 13 long years. 

In 2012, Munna Singh Gaud was rusticated from his services following an alleged error during election duty. This came as a massive setback for the Gaud family as it pushed his family into severe financial hardship.

However, following her daughter’s heroics, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav confirmed that Kranti’s father will get her job back. This came during the felicitation ceremony in Bhopal, where the CM of MP stated that it was only right that her father’s dignity be restored.

The CM also added that they are planning to make a world-class stadium in Kranti’s hometown of Chhatarpur to promote local sporting talent. Speaking during the ceremony, the pacer became emotional as well, saying her family used to be dependent on neighbours for food after her father’s dismissal.

“Since I could find another job and my sons had started working, I used to travel with her to Chhatarpur. Her coach would take all the girls together for any tournaments, but still, we used to be nervous and scared whenever she travelled far. Roshni and I used to travel separately to watch her play. It’s only the start of her career, but we feel all our sacrifices have paid off,” Munna Singh earlier told The Indian Express.

Kranti Gaud featured in eight matches for India Women in ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 and picked nine wickets in the tournament. India defeated South Africa by 52 runs in the final to lift the title.
