Watch: Krishnappa Gowtham takes a diving catch to dismiss Suyash Prabhudessai

Krishnappa Gowtham (1/10) had a good performance with the ball against RCB.

Spinners have continued to dominate at Lucknow’s Ekana Stadium. Leg-spinner Amit Mishra picked up a wicket against Royal Challengers Bangalore with the help of a stunning catch from Krishnappa Gowtham at the long off. Lucknow’s Ekana Stadium has turned into a bowler’s most favorable ground in the IPL 2023. There have been several low-scoring yet interesting encounters at the Ekana. Once again, Royal Challengers Bangalore batters have also found it tough to score freely in the game. Apart from Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli, no other batter could stay at the crease for long. RCB’s middle order once again disappointed the fans.

Gowtham plucks an outstanding diving catch

After Virat’s wicket, Anuj Rawat (9), Glenn Maxwell (4), and Suyash Prabhudessai (6) could only contribute 19 runs to the team’s total so far. Suyash Prabhudessai was trying to be aggressive against Amit Mishra. Suyash tried to play a reverse hit on one of Mishra’s googly. Mishra after sniffing an opportunity bowled the next one with a loopy delivery in the air, Prabhudessai went for a lofted shot toward long off but he was caught by Krishnappa Gowtham. Gowtham at first misjudged the catch but then dived forward to pluck a great catch at the long-off boundary.

RCB openers added 62 runs in 9 overs for the first wicket. Virat Kohli scored 31 runs in 30 balls with 3 fours. RCB captain Faf du Plessis is still not out on 40 runs. RCB batters have scored only 5 boundaries in 15 overs. There was a 25-minute rain delay in the game. Lucknow spinners are bowling brilliantly. Ravi Bishnoi bowled 4 overs and picked up 2 wickets and conceded only 21 runs. Krishnappa Gowtham also picked up a wicket in his 2 overs giving away only 10 runs. Amit Mishra picked up Suyash Prabhudessai in 2 overs conceding only 10 runs.
