IND vs SA: Kuldeep Yadav all set to miss second test against South Africa, requests leave from BCCI for his wedding

Indian Cricket Team spinner Kuldeep Yadav has requested the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to grant him leave in the last week of November for his wedding, according to a latest report in The Times of India. The wrist spinner had to postpone his wedding function earlier this year when Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 was extended till June after being halted for a week in May.
Kuldeep is currently part of India’s squad for the test series against South Africa Cricket Team. He is also picked in the playing XI for the first test, which is currently underway at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
The second test between India and South Africa will be played from November 22 to 26 at Guwahati’s Barsapara Cricket Stadium. Kuldeep is awaiting BCCI’s approval and is expected to miss the second test if the governing body grants him leave.

A BCCI source informed TOI that Kuldeep’s wedding is planned for the last week of November.
“Kuldeep’s wedding is planned for the last week of Nov. The team management will assess when they will need his services before granting him the exact number of leaves,” a BCCI source said.
The 30-year-old is the frontline spinner in India’s squad for the test series against South Africa along with spin-bowling all-rounders. During India’s last test series against the West Indies, Kuldeep finished as the leading wicket-taker with 12 scalps, including an eight-wicket match haul in the second test.
Earlier this month, he was released from the Indian T20I squad midway against Australia to play for India A in the unofficial test series against South Africa A. The decision was taken to prepare him for the test series against South Africa.
