Jos Buttler got deceived by the sharp turn from Kuldeep Yadav in IND vs ENG match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

England are ripped apart, chasing 230 against India in Lucknow. Skipper Jos Buttler was castled by spinner Kuldeep Yadav. England are playing at to 52/5 and India are looking favorites to win their sixth game on the trot in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

England batters were finding ways to get out and looked ordinary against Indian bowlers. Joe Root, Ben Stokes and Jonny Bairstow couldn't score big in Lucknow. Earlier in the day, the hosts were in a spot of trouble, but skipper Rohit Sharma led from the front with a gutsy 87. Surya Kumar Yadav, too, found himself among the runs, scoring a crucial 49. In-form batter Virat Kohli had a rather forgettable day with the bat, getting dismissed for a duck. However, as things stand, India have pulled things back and are looking comfortable at the moment.

Kuldeep Yadav gets the wicket of England skipper Jos Buttler

Buttler and Moeen Ali were just getting into the act after the pacers scalped four early wickets, but Kuldeep's sharp delivery got the better of Buttler. It hasn't been a good outing for Buttler so far in the tournament. England are at the bottom of the standings with only 2 points.

Another defeat will put the defending champions out of contention for the semi-finals. While time has been a factor in the ongoing game, Indian bowlers have been disciplined. Kuldeep has been impressive in the tournament along with Ravindra Jadeja, and it has kept Ravichandran Ashwin out of the playing XI.

India will look to seal a victory here and cement their spot in the semi-finals. Currently, South Africa are at the top of the points table; however, India are the favorites to make it to the knockouts. While Australia have made a stellar comeback in the tournament, winning their last four contests, New Zealand look to carry on their good work.
