Kuldeep Yadav was out of action due to a hernia surgery.
Wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav is set to make his comeback to competitive cricket after more than three months as he has been named in Uttar Pradesh’s (UP) squad that will take on Madhya Pradesh (MP) at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore for their last Ranji Trophy 2024-25 league match, starting January 30.
Kuldeep last played for India in October during the test series against New Zealand at home. After that, he missed the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024/25 in Australia as he underwent a hernia surgery.
Uttar Pradesh are already out of the knockouts race, but this match will give Kuldeep Yadav game time ahead of the ODI series against England the following ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
This Ranji match will give the selectors a proper assessment of Kuldeep’s fitness and rhythm before the three-match ODI series against the Three Lions that will start on February 6.
Kuldeep took to social media to thank the NCA staff.
“Recovery takes a team. Grateful to the NCA and it’s team for all the work behind the scenes,” Kuldeep tweeted.
