Mumbai Indians will be bowling first

Punjab Kings defeated Mumbai Indians in their previous clash at Wankhede Stadium. Mumbai captain Rohit Sharma at the toss said, “I asked Shikhar Dhawan what to do, and he said bowl first, so we are bowling first”. Mumbai Indians have won their games chasing in the IPL 2023. Rohit said, “It’s a good pitch, we have chased the target pretty well, so we will stick to our strengths”. Riley Meredith is ruled out from the game because of an injury and MI management gave young Akash Madhwal a chance against the Punjab Kings batting line-up.

Punjab Kings will go to bat first in Mohali, with Shikhar Dhawan still in a good rhythm with the bat. Along with Shikhar, Jitesh Sharma, Sikandar Raza will have a huge role to play in Punjab’s batting. Punjab Kings are going in without Kagiso Rabada and they have picked Nathan Ellis in as a sub. Arshdeep Singh will be taking charge of their bowling attack. For the playoff race, a win is important for both the teams.
