Several players have been ruled out of IPL 2026 due to various injuries.

Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 has been nothing short of exceptional. Teams like Punjab Kings, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and Rajasthan Royals (RR) looked dominant at the start; however, a few other teams are bouncing back after initial losses.

A few youngsters have impressed with their impeccable performances, while some veteran players have struggled to perform at their best. Injuries too have played their part and a few players have been at the receiving end of some serious blows.

While some of them are expected to return after recovery, a few others have been completely ruled out of the tournament. In this listicle, let’s take a glance at all the players who have been ruled out of IPL 2026 due to injuries.

Khaleel Ahmed (CSK)

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) struggled in the initial phase after losing three games in a row. Amid their dismal form, they suffered a big blow as their pacer Khaleel Ahmed was ruled out due to an injury.

The left-arm pacer was injured during a clash against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on April 14. He sustained a quadriceps injury and was later ruled out of the entire season. He clinched two wickets in five games at an economy of 8.67 before his ouster.

Brydon Carse (SRH)

Brydon Carse was all set to make his debut in IPL 2026 with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). However, he suffered a hand injury while batting in the nets ahead of the tournament opener. He has been replaced by Sri Lankan pacer Dilshan Madushanka.

David Payne (SRH)

David Payne was picked by SRH as a replacement for Jack Edwards, who was also ruled out ahead of the tournament. Payne featured in two matches at the start and clinched two wickets at an economy of 14.0. Due to an ankle injury, he was ruled out of the tournament, and SRH picked Gerald Coetzee as his replacement.

Tom Banton (GT)

Tom Banton did not play any games for the Gujarat Titans (GT) in IPL 2026. Due to a finger injury, he was ruled out of the tournament. Gujarat have picked South African wicketkeeper-batter Connor Esterhuizen as his replacement.

Ayush Mhatre (CSK)

CSK batter Ayush Mhatre was in a fabulous form, being the leading run-scorer for the side with 201 runs. He also scored half-centuries in two matches. Unfortunately, he suffered a hamstring injury while batting in the clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on April 18.

Medical scans confirmed that he has sustained a hamstring tear and would need about 6-12 weeks for recovery. As a result, he has been ruled out of the remainder of IPL 2026.
