Litton Das-led Bangladesh will play three T20Is against West Indies.
After drawing the test series 1-1, West Indies and Bangladesh are currently engaged in a three-match ODI series. Following the ODI series, both the sides will play a three-match T20I series, for which Bangladesh have announced their squad. Litton Das has been appointed as the captain for the visitors for the series. This will be the first time that the experienced wicket-keeper batter will lead the team for an entire T20I series.
Left-handed batter Shamim Hossain has returned to the Bangladesh squad. The southpaw last represented the Bangla Tigers in December 2023. The 24-year-old has enjoyed limited success in T20Is, scoring 254 runs in 14 innings at a strike rate of 115.98..
Another notable inclusion in the squad is of 21-year-old medium pacer Ripon Mondol, who first caught attention at the 2023 Asian Games, claiming four wickets and playing a key role in helping Bangladesh secure a bronze medal.
Regular all-format captain Najmul Hossain Shanto will miss the series as he remains sidelined with a hamstring injury sustained during the Afghanistan series in November.
Other key misses include Mahmudullah, who retired from the format earlier this year as well as Towhid Hridoy and Mustafizur Rahman, who are unavailable due to groin injury and personal leave respectively.
The T20I series will conclude Bangladesh’s ongoing all-format tour of the West Indies.
