2. Four matches – June to December 2009 (4 defeats) & July to October 2021 (4 defeats) &

India played their first-ever T20I game in 2006, and just three years later, the Men in Blue suffered four consecutive defeats. In the ICC T20 World Cup 2009, the MS Dhoni & Co. lost to West Indies, England, and South Africa in June, getting eliminated from the tournament.
They next played a T20I game against Sri Lanka in December, in which they also suffered a defeat by 29 runs, thereby losing four games in a row.
In 2021 also, India had one of their worst time in T20I cricket, losing four games in a row. In July, India lost against Sri Lanka in the last two games of a three-match series.
Later in October, they lost their opening two games against Pakistan and New Zealand in the T20 World Cup 2021 in the group stage. They suffered a shocking first-round exit in the tournament and, in the process, lost four consecutive games.

India’s longest winless streak has come in 2026 under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer. The Men-in-Blue toured Ireland in a two-match T20I series in June and faced shocking defeats in both games. It was Ireland’s first-ever win against India in international cricket.
After the Ireland tour, the Men in Blue clashes with England in a five-match T20I series in July. The first encounter was washed out due to rain, while England won the second and third games by four wickets and 125 runs, respectively. For the first time, the Men in Blue were winless in five games in a row.
